Requirements Capture Tool
Erudine's Requirements Capture Tool allows domain experts to tie requirements documents directly to system behaviour.Traditional requirements documents attempt to explicitly define all required system behaviour. Unfortunately, as systems grow and change some of the requirements can go unrecorded or become obscured by new additions, making some requirements documents unreliable. With Erudine’s technology, requirements capture is automated as the system is built and modified, ensuring the actual requirements are always visible.
The Erudine approach has a number of advantages over traditional requirements documents.
Traditional requirements documents
Your requirements document should be an exact description of system functionality and, in theory, allows your business experts to understand your IT systems and build new systems in the future, should the need arise. Over time, however, this ideal is often blurred by omissions and incomplete changes.Automated requirements capture
Erudine's Requirements Capture Tool manages an electronic version of the requirements document. Requirements can be added, edited or deleted, descriptions can be added and requirements can be placed within a hierarchical structure. When behaviour changes are submitted to an Erudine system, the software will automatically provide a test case. Both behaviour and test case can be inserted into the Requirements Manager under the appropriate requirement heading. This means that each requirement will link directly to the exact system behaviour that meets that requirement.
