Data Highlighting

Conceptual graphs provide a language convention that is both easily readable by a domain expert (who may be untrained in software development) and understandable by a computer.

data visualisation

Using conceptual graphs to visualise data, a domain expert, rather than a computer programmer, can quickly impart their expert (tacit) knowledge through the Conclusion & Justification process within an Erudine system.

This is a considerable departure from the standard method for writing complex IT systems, where a computer programmer translates the expert's words into computer code. This requires a programmer not only to become familiar with business logic, but also to adopt the role of domain expert.

The rich data visualisation offered by conceptual graphs allows domain experts to refine system behaviour by resolving differences between cases (represented as graphs). The conceptual logic of each case can be displayed side-by-side for easy comparison.

In order to resolve a conflict between cases, a domain expert needs to highlight what is different between the two graphs.
