Evolving legacy to protect from future threats

Challenge
A blue-chip organisation needed a fast, secure way of managing the physical distribution of cryptographic keys.
The current legacy system controlling workflows and security privileges could not respond to the rapid pace of change in this area. Furthermore, as external threats emerge and adapt, the system was unable to keep pace and therefore vulnerability increased.
The project required a non-intrusive approach which not only incorporated the necessary flexibility to deal with business processes, but ensured the system could be rapidly evolved in the face of external threats.
The Erudine Solution
The Erudine Behaviour Engine (EBE) enabled the client to capture the existing rules and behaviour within its legacy system, without intrusion or risk.
This ‘clone’ system was then deployed on the latest hardware and, using EBE, the new business requirements were incorporated to modernise the system.
EBE allowed risk-free evolution to address known threats, without the extensive time and financial investment required by traditional technologies.
Benefits
By utilising the EBE, the project was delivered at 30 per cent of the cost and in half the time compared to traditional IT.
The evolved system allows the organisation to implement changing policies and accessibility rights as required, improving business workflows and reducing the time-lag between
IT systems and management decisions.
Crucially, the system always retains the ability to evolve in the face of rapidly changing threats and quickly address vulnerabilities.
